Visitors!

We welcomed some visitors to Baton Rouge recently.  Brian's aunt and uncle visited from Minnesota by way of California, Arizona and Texas.

They traveled a long way!

We had a big lasagna dinner the night they arrived.

We broke out the extra table.

There was some game playing.

On Tuesday we loaded up the van for a trip out to lunch and LSU.

Load 'em up!

We hit Walk On's and had a great set up out on their patio.

Table for 12

They brought us some free hush-puppies as an appetizer.

Cindy had the Catfish Atchafalaya

Byron had the Crawfish Etoufee

The girls had po'boys

Jon had the shrimp

Matthew chose the burger and fries

Brian had the Bayou Pasta

I picked the shrimp po'boy

James picked something called "The Hangover"

It was an egg and some other things on top of a burger.

It was huge!

He conquered it well.

Andrew had the shrimp and Peter chose the crispy chicken.

After lunch we headed over to LSU's campus to check it out before James had class.

We started at Mike the Tiger's enclosure.

He was lazing out in the corner as usual.

I think we need one of these in the yard - hours of climbing fun!

We hit the Quad and the flowers were out everywhere.  It was really pretty!

We said goodbye to James after getting some solid directions to the Student Union.

We headed down to the LSU Barbershop.  My favorite place in BR to get the boys' hair cut.

Peter in the hot seat.

All done!

We headed home in time for piano lessons and got ready for a backyard campfire.

Hot dogs

Marshmallows for s'mores

Me and Gracie.

After the sun went down and we cleaned up we played a game on the XBox.

Byron and Cindy battled it out in Street Fighter.
.

Judging by all of the laughter, they had a good time.  Cindy ended up winning.

The next morning we had to say goodbye.

Cindy and Grace.

We had a great visit and it was so nice to see them after so long.  They got to meet the four youngest kids for the first time.

Thank you for everything and for taking the time to stop in!

The kids are planning your next trip down already!

Up Next:  All the deets on Matthew's 4th birthday, stay tuned!
