Andrew's Birthday!!

We celebrated Andrew's birthday early this year because his actual birthday falls right at the beginning of Kids Camp and the kids are gone from just after breakfast until bedtime.  

We heard that the park in our neighborhood was finally finished so we brought a pizza and watermelon picnic over there to check it out.

Dinner was quick and good and we headed to the playground/sprayground.  

Up North we didn't have these spraygrounds.  If we wanted to run through water on a hot day we had to supply our own yard and sprinkler.  But here the city does it for us.

Saturday was haircut day - times 5.

I went with Brian and all of the boys (except Peter) to Sports Clips.

Haircuts at LSU

My favorite place in Baton Rouge to get the boys' hair cut is the barbershop at the LSU Student Union. 

Yes, even on game day.

We braved the crowds and traffic and found a parking spot not too far away.

Andrew and Grace were watching tv while they waited.  Grace was tired!

The barber gave us a 2-for-1 deal so we had some cash left over for the candy machine. 

Score!!

Then we braved the sidewalks back to the car.  

Flags were flying.

Lots of tailgating going on.

It's hard to see, but there is actually a big screen tv under that white tent.  A little generator sits by the tree to run the tv I guess.  Us?  We choose to watch at home from the comfort of our couch and avoid the lines at the port-a-potties.

But what do we know??

On the way back to the car we saw some tackle dummies.

So they had to mess around with them a little bit.  

Sure beats WonderCuts!

Andrew's Birthday

Andrew turns 7 this week.  We celebrated a couple of days early because his birthday falls on the first day of International Kids Conference (more on that another day) and he is not going to be home the evening of his birthday.

I took the kids shopping earlier for presents and captured this video in the toy aisle. 

FART BLASTER

Thankfully, no Fart Blasters were purchased during this shopping trip.

Andrew wanted an orange creamsicle cake for his birthday.  This is a new flavor in the cake aisle. 

He told me he wanted an orange on the top - so I complied.

We had pizza for dinner (no surprise).  Andrew chose buffalo chicken and cowboy pizzas.  

After dinner we had presents. 

He was excited.

He had a good party and got lots of nice presents.  Thanks to the grandparents who sent cards and money for him - he's thrilled to go shopping!

Three Months Old

Grace turned three months old a few days ago.

Happy 5th Birthday Andrew

Today is Andrew's 5th birthday.  The big 05!  It gives us a chance to look back at the other birthdays that he had. 

This is one of my favorite pictures ever.  Jonathan was so excited to have a baby brother - you can tell by the look on his face.
