Pictures, Strep and Projects

So, two years ago I got an awesome camera as a gift from Brian.  Since then I have succeeded in messing around and getting some great pictures.  As Grace's first birthday approaches I decided to get serious about taking some pictures on purpose.  

So, I set up a little "studio" in the living room and snapped away.

They turned out pretty well. 

I also have an awesome phone with a superb camera so I tried some with that.

I used a little editing on my phone and got this.  Kinda cool looking. 

Also last week I had to take this guy to the doctor.

Turns out he has strep throat.

Off to the pharmacy we go . . . 

Is this the face of a sick kid?  I don't think so.  

While we were gone at the clinic and pharmacy, Brian and the kids decked out the hallway.

Now our super hero masks are easily accessible and readily available. 

I love it!  

 Andrew and Peter worked on a birdhouse together.

They hung it on the tree in the back yard.

At Target

At Target last week Peter strolled by the eggs and then ran back exclaiming 

"Mom!  Can we get the chocolate eggs just for me, Mom?!  Please!!"

Grace

I didn't get around to making an 11month post for Gracie, so I thought I would throw a couple of very recent photos of her up here for you all.

Here she is in her t-shirt from Cozumel. It was the first time she had worn it. As you can see it's a bit big, but so cute. I love the turtles.

Here she is sneaking bites of my ice cream.

And from today . . .

We met Daddy at the park for a picnic lunch.

She's looking at him in wonder at the chicken sandwich he's sharing.

What's Up?

We're coming out on the other side of the FLU around here.  

Not fun.  

Grace had it back in November and then Brian got it shortly after we returned from our cruise.  

I took a couple of pictures of the weapons we used to fight the flu . . .

I also made up some home-made elderberry syrup.

Yummy!  (or not - depending on who you ask)

I was actually pleased with it and it tasted better than the one my friend sells at the health food store.  I made a batch without the honey for Gracie.  

We went to a wedding shower. 

She wouldn't smile. 

Maybe because Alyssa ate all of her goldfish crackers.

I got a new crock pot. 

What I made was not a huge hit. 

I'm not giving up.  

Never give up!  Never surrender!

We went to the park one day not too long ago. 

Faith and Gracie.  Grace was looking down the hill at the boys.

Scrabble Cheez-Its are pretty cool.

Grace took a nap one day.

She smiles!!

Our almost 40 year old water heater started dripping last weekend so we decided to put it out of our it's misery.

We headed to Home Depot (gasp!)

And Grace helped us pick out a new one.  

On Tuesday she slept while we picked up some pizza. 

And on Wednesday our friend came over

And installed our new water heater.  

(Yes, in the attic . . . )

Yay!  

Grace gets Peter.
